Kickstarter Projects We Backed This Week

Putting our money where our mouth is, part two!

We don’t just say we back indie comics, we do back indie comics! While we run this Kickstarter campaign, we are also showcasing some of the great projects we’ve back this week. What, you didn’t know we’re running a campaign too? Then you better check out Napoleon’s Starship on Kickstarter!

Not a bad tally so far…

So without further ado, let’s talk about some of the awesome campaigns we found and backed this week. The selection is wide and varied, much like our tastes!

The Cloak Room

The Cloak Room is an anthology (we LOVE anthologies!) created by the students of Scott Snyder’s (yes, THAT Scott Snyder!) writing workshop. You can get books one and two in the Kickstarter campaign.

Pledges will directly support the artists and writers in this series. The editors and publisher take no profits - all money collected from pledges will cover the costs of printing, cover art, design and marketing. Any and all excess money raised will be paid directly to the creators.

Dead by the Book: A God Street Mystery

We don’t just back comics, we back novels and prose too! Jack Holder is a friend of ours who has launched several successful Kickstarter projects. A bit about Dead by the Book in his words:

What would you do on God Street?

Every deity calls the road home. Every god of war, of love, the rulers of the skies and the underworlds.

Find your greatest desires, and your deepest fears. Beg for generals to slay your enemies, or a lover who will show you pains and ecstasies not seen in millennia. All it will ever cost is your soul.

Come to God Street. Meet every god, demon, and monstrosity that has ever stalked your nightmares, and whispered miracles in the shadows.

And then find William Creed. The poor bastard doomed to kill them all.

The After Death

The After Death campaign is for book two, but you can get both books on the Kickstarter. In fact, we did!

As conventional wisdom states, show, don’t tell. So rather than giving you a huge write up…

When we last left The After Death Book One, the final panel looked something exactly like this:

In Book Two, we pick up right where we left off and if you wanna' sneak peek, the very first panel of Book Two looks a little exactly like this:

Pretty intriguing, right? So why not back it?

And finally, how about a sneak peek at a cool and upcoming Kickstarter?

Kismet: an Arcane Cocktail Enthusiast story

We’ve know Jeff Rider for a while now. He’s a great member of the indie comics community and has always been very supportive of us and other indie folks. Why not give his campaign a follow before it launches? It is best described as "The Bear" meets "The Sopranos" in this urban fantasy prequel!

Come see us this week!

Don’t forget to come see us at Wicked Con this weekend in Boston! We are in the

. See you there!!!!
